Rewrite by GamFratesi

'Rewrite' is a prototype desk by Copenhagen designers´design studio GamFratesi. You will hide in cave-like workstation while you working.
"The idea behind Rewrite began as a study of the desktop and especially an atmosphere and feeling we believe is needed even in the middle of an accelerating communication and technology. Rewrite is thought of as a kind of isolating working bubble, that can work as a satellite desk anywhere one can feel the need of concentration and shielding – in open space offices, public spaces or at home. With its rounded shape it can be placed freely as dots in a room. A private base in the group without being a denial of it, but an addition to it causing an alternative.
In our design of the desktop Rewrite we have worked on creating a meeting between something well known and something surprising. The table is therefore traditional in its form and material, but when the big screen is added, both proportions and historical references are brought out of balance. In the table functional elements have been integrated as a white lacquered metal box, which is attached under the table in order to hide cables and transformers, and the cable exit in the tabletop is white lacquered too.
The screen is upholstered and covered with textile because of its visual and acoustic characteristics. It has a cave-like shape and creates a secure and intimate sphere, which partially closes out disturbing light and sounds. It has a double-sided acoustic function that protects against noise from the outside as well as from the inside. " Via

River of Five Colors

Caño Cristales has been referred to as the "river of five colors", "the river that ran away to paradise," and "the most beautiful river in the world." It is indeed a unique biological wonder. For most of the year, the Caño Cristales is indistinguishable from any other river, with a bed of rocks covered in dull green mosses and a cool dark blue current. However for a short period each year the river blossoms in a rainbow of colors.
During a brief span between the Colombia´s wet and dry seasons, when the water level is just right, the many varieties of algae and moss bloom in a dazzling display of colors. Blotches of amarillo, blue, green, black, and red--and a thousand shades in between--coat the river.

A number of the more adventurous Colombian tourist agencies will fly travelers to the nearby town of La Macarena. The river, which is roughly 20 meters wide and runs for 100 kilometers, is rather remote. Without any roads leading to the river, the Caño Cristales must be accessed by horse. Via
